Temora boasts one of the best country aerodromes and one of the most active you'll find anywhere. It's attracting attention both internationally and nationally making Temora a Mecca for aviation enthusiasts.
Temora's greatest contribution to World War II was the No.10 Elementary Flying Training School established on 1st May 1941 at the Temora Aerodrome.
Weekdays and weekends are busy with the award winning Temora Aviation Museum, gliders, pilots, planes, skydivers and spectators galore. The museum's Warbirds Downunder draws massive international crowds every second year. Recreational aviation is a hot pursuit in Temora and destined to become even bigger as adrenaline and adventure sports gain favour.
Temora is relatively fog-free with unrestricted airspace and an abundance of good weather. Ideal flying conditions are matched with a strong Aero Club and people who just love flying and building small planes.
Temora hosts championships annually in aerobatics and gliding. The Aero Club offers ultralight training on licensed airfield and theory courses including Flight Rules and Procedures and Navigation.
There is a caravan park and camping ground on the airfield. Small planes can be frequently heard overhead and it's not uncommon to sight Australia's only flying Spitfire in Temora's airspace.
Runway 09/27 is rated 10. It is 815 metres long with a gravel surface.
Any aircraft above these ratings will require a pavement concession.
Council does not charge any landing fee to users of the airport and there is no intention of introducing fees. The airport is seen as an asset that will stimulate Temora's economy and the no landing fees policy is viewed as an incentive to attracting business to Temora.
Toilets and car park are available at the main airport building.
The Airport is 2km north of Temora
The runway is located at Temora Airport
