Miss Trail's House is a delightful heritage house museum. Built in 1845, this Victorian era bungalow was left to the National Trust in 1976 and the collection it holds features pieces that once belonged to some of the original settlers of the Bathurst district.
The cottage is set amidst extensive grounds and is perfect for weddings and receptions, photography, parties and outdoor events. The gardens will appeal throughout the seasons – they are full of blazing colours in Spring , fragrant blooms in Summer, dappled Autumn tones and sunny Winter hideaways; the setting is sure to enchant your guests.
Miss Traill’s enchanting garden is a perfect venue for your wedding or party. As they enter from Russell Street, your guests can wander along shady winding pathways to arrive at the beautiful and private back lawn. This area can be decorated and garden furniture arranged as you choose.
Our garden gazebo is ideal for a photo opportunity or for signing the register. We can provide silver service drinks and delicious finger food if you wish. Our adjoining paddock is also available for a larger function, it is ideal for a marquee and there is even an earth stage that is suitable for any performance. Miss Traill’s romantic garden: a perfect venue for your memorable occasion.

A $100 deposit is a booking and security deposit which secures the booking and will be refunded after the function if the grounds are left as they were found. Please note the deposit is not refunded if the booking is cancelled.
There are driveways to the property on Russell and Hope Streets.

To be eligible for the member discount, please go to 'My profile', select the organisation you belong to and enter your member ID. The venue manager will then approve your membership if valid. The discount will be applied to bookings of relevant venues.
All bookings of this venue require a $20 million AUD public liability policy
The visitor may provide their own catering
The visitor may provide their own alcohol according to local, state and national laws and regulations.
If the Venue Manager cancels the booking, the Total Fees (including Venue Fees and Service Fees) will be refunded in full to the Visitor. If the Visitor cancels the booking more than 28 days prior to the check-in time and date, 50% of the Venue Fees will be refunded. The Service Fees will not be refunded. If the Visitor cancels the booking between 14 and 28 days prior the check-in time and date, 20% of the Venue Fees will be refunded. The Service Fees will not be refunded. If the Visitor cancels the booking between less than 14 days prior the check-in time and date, the Venue Fees and Service Fees are non-refundable. If the Visitor arrives and decides to leave early, the Venue Fees and Service Fees are non-refundable.
